Jimmie Haney, 84, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at his home on Monday, May 18, 2026, after a brief illness. Born September 25, 1941 in Uhrichsville, he was the son of the late Charlie Alford and Margaret “Peggy” (Haddix) Haney.
On February 16, 1965, Jimmie wed the former Nina Una Morrison with whom he spent 57 years of loving marriage until her passing on June 5, 2022. He is survived by their four children, Kelly (Darinel) Hernandez, Bill Haney, David (Jen) Haney, Donald Haney; stepdaughters, Jody (Rex) Barr and Jeannie (Derek) Albright; many grandchildren, including Leticia (Mark), Arvin (Grace), Oscar, Tausha, Megan, James, Kayla, Kelsey, Madison, Earl, Kip, Nathan, Codie, Madaline, Miranda, and Shalyn; great-grandchildren, Adam, Waylen, Zeplin, Kenyon, Ameir, Adalynn, Dawson, and Peyton; several step grandchildren; brother, Gary (Linda) Haney; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Angel Haney; sisters, Lois Milligan, Shirley Davis, and Mary “Frances” Hanshaw; and brothers, Earl Haney, Donald Haney, and Arnold “Ray” Haney.
Jimmie was a lifelong Twin City resident who had worked in the local manufacturing industry, as well as being a security officer later in his life. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country as a Military Policeman in the U.S Army from 1958 to 1961. Jimmie was a member of the 11th Street Church of God in Uhrichsville who cherished the time that he spent with his family. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. He will be interred with his beloved wife in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery, following a private, family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring his memory may be made to the 11th Street Church of God, P. O. Box 321, Uhrichsville, OH 44683 and Ohio’s Hospice Foundation in support of the Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
