Jessie Pauline Grezlik, 83, of Uhrichsville, passed away at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia on Saturday, September 28, 2013 after a long period of declining health. Born March 17, 1930 in Bowerston, she was a daughter of the late Alta Mason Blaine and Chloe Mae (Cox) Huff.

A 1948 graduate of Perrysville High School, Jessie had been a resident of the area throughout her life. On August 7, 1948, she married Xavier “Zeke” Grezlik and began her life as a loving wife and homemaker. She enjoyed nearly 43 years of marriage with him until his passing on April 28, 1991. They were blessed with four children, Anna Mae (Roy W.) Abel of Dennison, Rose Marie Welshenbaugh who preceded her in death in 2011, Saundra Sue (Richard) McMath and Ronald W. (Sarah) Grezlik of the Tappan Lake area; five grandchildren, Vince (companion, Amanda Smith) Abel, Christina (Brad) Guy, Melissa (Steve) Harris, Shannon Eckhardt and Matthew (companion, Alexandra Soltesz) Eckhardt; ten great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mackenzie, Ashton, Terin, Zane, Cheyenne, Mitchell, Daniel, Jaden and Lloyd; and Shawna Kidd and Hank Devore who were like grandchildren to her. Jessie is also survived by a sister, Lydia J. Mansfield of Uhrichsville; brother- and sister-in-law, Frank “Butch” and Shirley Grezlik of Fairfield, Ohio; sister-in-law, Betty Grezlik of Bowerston; numerous nieces and nephews, including Thelma Miller of Boca Raton, Fla. to whom she was especially close; and a number of other extended family members. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Fred, John and Ray Huff; and two sisters, Ethel Huff and Verna Shawver.

Jessie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the time that she spent with her family. She was an accomplished seamstress who especially enjoyed quilting and loved gardening, as well. She also enjoyed the many pony pulls she attended with her husband at local county fairs. She attended Leesville Faith Community Chapel.
