Jessica Christine Emery, 35, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, was a daughter of Sarah McCullough and the late Aaron Forney and of Scott and Judy Emery who lost half their sunshine on Monday, September 1, 2025. Jessica was known to them as Jessi, Jess, Aunt Sassy, Jessi Fessi, Peanut and Fester. She arrived in heaven shortly after midnight and had been surrounded with love, tears, and laughter.
Jessi was sunshine – always smiling through whatever her illnesses gave her. Early onset dementia took her knowledge, but never her love of life! She could make anyone laugh, never met a stranger, and she greeted everyone with that smile. Moving her to New Dawn Rehab and Healthcare Center was just what her spirit needed. At New Dawn, she was shown grace and love. The staff and the residents became family to Jess.
She leaves behind with broken hearts her mother, Sarah McCullough; father, Scott (Judy) Emery; her dear sister, Stephanie Emery and Stephanie’s soulmate and fiancé, Adam Conner; Stephanie’s children, Mavrick Corpman, Hendrix Conner, and Jessi’s namesake, Jacey Conner; siblings, Ryan (Hailea) Forney, Kevin James, Joey Emery, Jacob Emery, and Madison Emery; and paternal grandparents, Ken and Martha Emery.
Jessi was a graduate of Indian Valley High School in 2008 and attended Kent State University. She then went on to work as a home manager at Horizons until her disease prevented her from continuing. To know Jessi was to love her, she will always be remembered for her happy outlook on life and never letting anything bring her down.
In keeping with Jessi’s wishes she will be cremated. A celebration of her life, officiated by Brother Dave Millard, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Activity Barn of First Baptist Church, 878 Commercial Ave., New Philadelphia, Ohio.
