Jesse Allen Mencer, 40, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at his home. Born November 17, 1980 in Canton, he was the son of Mary Ellen Mencer of New Philadelphia and the late Frank Patrick Byrne, Jr.
Jesse was a diesel mechanic who loved science and will be remembered for his creative tinkering and inventing. He was a member of the Uhrichsville Moose and attended the Cathedral of Praise in Uhrichsville.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Katrina (Hilbert) Mencer; children, Emerson Hilbert, Evelynne Mencer, and Ellianna Mencer; sister, Tabbetha (Wesley) Perez; half sister, Mary Byrne; nephew, DeMarco Perez; and niece, Annabella Perez. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Klines and Ruth Mencer, and great-grandmother, Lena Marie Busey, as well as his father.
Pastor Sandra Hall will officiate his funeral service at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, in the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. . All who attend must wear a mask and maintain social distancing. To avoid overcrowding, the family kindly requests that those who come will not linger to allow other callers the opportunity to pay their respects to Jesse.
