Jean Louise DiDonato, 92, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Park Village Southside in New Philadelphia, after a period of declining health. Born October 5, 1928 in Somerville, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Domenic and Florence (Torridi) Pisano.
On June 26, 1949, Jean married Armand Joseph “Army” DiDonato with whom she enjoyed 35 years of marriage until his passing on January 31, 1985. They are survived by five sons, David A. (Jeannie), Peter T. (Sheree), Robert L., Joseph A. (Debbie), and Steve J. (companion, Christine Stewart) DiDonato; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren with another expected in September. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Parker; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends and a host of dear neighbors from her Washington Avenue neighborhood. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Torridi
Jean devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She also served her community on the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections and as a volunteer at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar Society for most of her life and was a supporter of Tuscarawas Central Catholic Schools. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and decorating and will be remembered for her lovingly created homemade gifts.
Father Tom Gardner will celebrate the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Visitation will begin with a 4:00 p.m. Christian Wake Service and continue until a 6:45 p.m. eulogy service on Wednesday at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. In the interest of public health, all who attend must wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Immaculate Conception Church’s Memorial Book Fund, 206 N. 1 st St., Dennison, OH 44621 or the charity of their choice, in lieu of flowers.
