Janet Ellen Huston

July 7, 1941 — December 31, 2025

Uhrichsville, Ohio

Janet Ellen Huston, 84, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio, while surrounded by her loving family. Born July 7, 1941 in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Allen Joshua and Mary Mildred (Mizia) Brinkley.

A local resident for most of her life, Janet was a 1959 graduate of Conotton Valley High School before marrying the love of her life, Herman Earl Huston, on September 12, 1959 – enjoying nearly 40 years of marriage until his passing on July 20, 1999. Together, they were blessed with five children, Norma (Glenn) Arnold, Debbie (Dennis Moore) Orr, Curtis (Shanda) Huston, and William (Wanita) Huston who survive her, and Gary Lee Huston who preceded her in death; ten grandchildren, Amanda (Todd) Wright, Paul Orr, Virginia (Matt) Kennedy, Waylon Orr, Andrew (Icy) Orr, Alexandra Huston, Lucas (fiancée, Monique) Huston, Tyler Huston, and Natalie Huston who survive her, and Amber Orr who preceded her in death; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Janet is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Patti Brinkley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Ken Myers and Shirley and Maynard Scott, preceded her in death.

Janet was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who had devoted her life to the care of her family. The time that she spent with them – especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren – was her greatest joy. She loved watching football and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, as well as a fan of the New York Yankees during baseball season. Janet was a longtime member of the New Philadelphia Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
