Janet S. Hurst

Janet S. Hurst, 75, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Born April 20, 1950 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Elmer “Jack” Robinson and Mary Ann (Sponseller) Mossgrove.

Janet was a 1968 graduate of Claymont High School who had made her home in the Twin City area throughout her life. In addition to being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, she had worked as a dietary aide at Twin City Hospital in Dennison for a number of years.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Angela Sarver (Lee), Tammy (Eric) Durbin, Craig (Tina) Birch, Todd Birch (Mary), and Lori (Joe) Mahaney; grandchildren, Morgan and Maddison Miles, Andrew, Nicholas, and Reagan Durbin, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Carlie, Claudia, Gretchen, and Xander Birch, Shianna Law, and Chase Walker; five great-grandchildren; sister, Jill Pedrotty; brother, Jack Robinson; four nephews and two nieces; and companion, Carl Smith. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Mike Pedrotty, as well as her parents.

Nick Sponseller, cousin of Janet, will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Friday, May 9, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where her family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service. She will be interred in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery on a future date.
