Janet Marlene Bargar, age 81, of Dennison, passed away on August 1, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Janet was born August 27, 1939 in Lewisville, Ohio. She was a daughter of the late Harry H. and Mary E. (Lopeman) Pickens.
Janet is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard A. Bargar; daughter, Sandi Marie Albright; three granddaughters, Sara Swiney, Megan Ott, and Maya Ott; great-granddaughter, Baylee Swiney; two sisters, Rita Brindley and Donna (Ron) Ross; sisters-in-law, Connie Pickens, and Norma Staley; brother-in-law, Carl Bargar; 39 nieces and nephews; 76 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 49 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Richard Allen Jr.; brothers, Hat, Karl, Bill, and Harold Busch, and Tom Pickens; and brothers-in-law, Jack Brindley and Guy Staley.
Janet was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and its Altar Society, she was a 1957 graduate of St. Mary’s High School (the Blue Waves) who served on the St. Mary’s Alumni Committee for 30 years. She was employed at Pro Rep for over 20 years.
Father Tyron Tomson will celebrate the funeral Mass on Friday, August 6, at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. According to Janet’s wishes, no visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church and Immaculate Conception Elementary.
