On October 25, 1958, Jim married the former Dora A. Tharp with whom he enjoyed nearly fifty-two years of marriage. He is also survived by his four children, Jim Torch, III of Brightwood, Mrs. Steve (Mandy) Miller of New Philadelphia, Lori Kosegi of New Philadelphia, and Mark Torch and his wife, Anne, of Pickerington, O.; six grandchildren, Mrs. Jake (Natalie) Burdette of Dennison, Amanda and Mikki Renee McCue of New Philadelphia, James Torch of Sugarcreek, and Meagan and Mark C. Torch of Pickerington; four great grandchildren, Jakyha and Marissa Burdette and Dawson and Aiden McCue; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The last of his generation, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy J., Frank P. and Thomas A. Torch; and five sisters, Jenny Tristano, Josephine Menapace, Grace Jackson, Rose Rees, and Mary Smith. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Torch, and a great grandson, C.J. Brown, Jr.

Jim was a loving husband and devoted father who loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed coaching his sons’ little league teams when they were young.

Services for Jim, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.
