James Kenneth Mccullough

James Kenneth McCullough, 92, of Columbus, Ohio, was called home to heaven from Mother Angeline McCrory Manor in Columbus on Monday, November 30, 2020, to celebrate his birthday with his beloved late wife. Born December 1, 1927 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of the late James Stewart and Virginia Louella (Cramblett) McCullough.

A 1945 graduate of Uhrichsville High School, Jim grew up in Uhrichsville before serving in the U.S. Army during the occupation of Japan. He then earned his Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering Degree from The Ohio State University in 1952, preparing him for his long career in the field as an engineer for the former North American Aviation which became North American Rockwell and is now part of Boeing. In his spare time, he enjoyed outdoor pursuits including golfing and spending time at his farm. He especially treasured the days that he spent with his family at their summer cottage on Tappan Lake where he enjoyed many fishing trips.

On November 29, 1952, he married the former Barbara Ann Phillips with whom he cherished nearly 68 years of marriage until her recent passing on November 4, 2020. They are survived by their children, Jeff (Donna) McCullough, Daurice (Hans E.) Grossniklaus, and Kenneth McCullough; grandchildren, Mollie, Todd, Ann, Emily, William, Melissa, and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Evan, Joseph “J.J.”, Owen, Luke, Bryce, Petra, and Bianca. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Sandy) McCullough, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, William McCullough, and brother, Robert (Polly) McCullough, as well as his parents and wife.

In the interest of public health, a private service is planned prior to his interment at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Twin City Christian Service Center, 109 N. Water St., Uhrichsville, OH  44683, and the Uhrichsville Veteran Memorial with checks payable to Terry LeMonte, 210 E. 8 th St., Uhrichsville, OH  44683.
