James A. Mccauley, Jr.

July 16, 1966 — March 10, 2024

James Alan McCauley, Jr., 57, of Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 10, 2024. Born July 16, 1966 in Dennison, he was a son of Elizabeth Jean “B.J.” (Ruscin) Brandon of Dennison and the late James Alan McCauley, Sr.

On April 7, 2001, Jim married the former Janet Carol Cooper who survives him at their home. He is also survived by his brother, Dale McCauley, and his son, James Keith Bowman; sisters, Michele (Rick) Mahaffey, and her daughter, Beth Perez, and Courtney (Gary) Edwards; son, Cody (Olivia) Bowling; granddaughters, Mikelle and Malloni Western, and their father, Mike Western; aunts and uncles, Mary Ann and Rich Pica, Tessy and Len Simonetti, Maggie Moreland, John and Suzi Ruscin, Carmen and Randy Fawcett, Gigi and Mike Heddleston, and Dorothy (Jim Clough) Rogers and their families, as well as his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Steven Brandon. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Natasha Bowling.

Jim grew up in Los Angeles, California where he was a graduate of Pacific Shores High School in 1984, before attending college for business. Locally, he worked in plumbing for many years and was a member and past trustee and president of the Uhrichsville Eagles. Jim was a sports enthusiast throughout his life, as a multi-sport athlete in his younger years and evolving into an avid spectator and fan as his health declined. Golf was a favorite pastime for him for much of his life. Jim loved his family dearly and especially treasured the time that he spent with his granddaughters. He was Catholic by faith.

According to his wishes, cremation is planned. A celebration of his life will be held at the Uhrichsville Eagles on Friday, March 15, at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
