James C. Jackson, 71, of Tippecanoe, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville after a lengthy illness. Born February 28, 1943 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Fred and Jeannette (Kinsey) Jackson.
On August 15, 1964, Jim married the former Virginia White with whom he looked forward to celebrating 50 years of marriage. He is also survived by their children, Kimberly (Jack) Vermillion, J.D. (friend, Kim Jackson) Jackson and Karrie (Don) Baker of Uhrichsville and Dwayne (companion, Myndi VanFossen) Jackson of Tippecanoe; grandchildren, Anya, Audrianna (Doug), Anayla (Jeremy), Alex, Levi (Liz), Wyatt, J.J., Kyana, Tyler, Alexis, Hayden, Courtney, Logan, Jess and Steph; and great-grandchildren, Haley, Hunter, Nathan and Skylan; as well as his siblings, Daniel, Charles (Lou) and Donald Jackson, and Ora Jean (Craig) Smallcombe; many nieces and nephews; and close family friends, Jay and Terri McClain and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Gary Jackson, sisters-in-law, Grace, Myrna and Sue Jackson, and father- and mother-in-law, Lewis and Hazel White.
Jim was a lifelong resident of the area who operated his own automotive shop until his retirement, having previously worked at Brightwood Motors and the Tappan Sunoco Station. He was an avid NASCAR fan who loved rooting for his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon.
Services, officiated by Pastor Roger Deardorff, will be held at 1pm on Thursday, June 26, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Feed Spring Cemetery near Uhrichsville. Visitation will be 5-8pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
