Jacob D. Edie

May 30, 1989 — November 23, 2013

Jacob Delmar Edie, 24, of Marietta, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a bravely fought battle with cancer. Born May 30, 1989 in Dover, he was a son of Margaret M. (Albright) Edie of Marietta. Jake was a 2007 graduate of Claymont High School.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by sisters, Ruth E. (Booker Atkins, Jr.) Atkins, Jamie L. Edie, Naomi M. Vasquez and Michele L. Shalosky; brother, John M. Corpman; aunt, Ruth Kula; uncles, Walter Kula and John Albright; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Naomi Albright Bradley and Howard Bradley, and uncles, Jake and Bill Albright.

Jake had a heart of gold. He could never tell you no. He had a special girl he loved whom he called “Bear”, Tamira Gray, and her daughter, Aaliyah. Jake also had a wonderful nephew he called his “Brosky”, Lanny P. Warner III. They were like real brothers, and that’s what he considered him. Jake loved so many things, one in particular was snow. He loved K-Mart and would travel just to see how busy they were. He loved baking, playing his games and hanging out. He will be sadly missed. He had a way of making you laugh even when you weren’t in the mood. Jake could bring joy to anyone who knew him.

Services for Jake, officiated by Pastor Lyle Warren, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Those wishing to honor Jake’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Newport United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 404, Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
