Jacalyn Lynn Miller, 69, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center in Canton, following a brief illness. Born February 25, 1952 in Canton, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Jackson Poole and Anna Faye (McCartney) Poole.
A Twin City resident since 1975, Jacalyn had lived previously in Carrollton where she was a 1972 graduate of Carrollton High School. She was employed by Handy & Harmon for 17 years, followed by another 17 years at Kurz-Kash before retiring in 2015. In retirement, she enjoyed being a grill cook at Rod’s Donuts in Uhrichsville. She attended Family Baptist Church and Strait Gate Baptist Church.
On April 13, 1984, Jacalyn married Ronald E. Miller who survives her at their home. She is also survived by her sons, John (companion, Samantha Koon) Kidd and Jeffrey Kidd; grandchildren, Karissa (Quinn) Dickey, Chloe (Alex) Alderman, Katie Kidd, Kyler (companion, Shadow) Kidd, Tora (Evan) Clapper, and Tessa (companion, Andrew Schweitzer) Kidd-Wilson; great-grandchildren, Arria and Dravena Alderman, Matthew and Vera Clapper, Dallas Kidd-Paisley, and Phinley Kidd; siblings, Charlene (Richard) Mutton, Shirley Poole, Linda (Bruce) Maney, Randy (Renee) Poole, and David (Judy) Poole; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Poole.
Pastor Michael O’Guin will officiate Jacalyn’s funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
