Irene Fay Riley, 89, of Dennison, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville. Born January 7, 1927 in Stillwater, she was a daughter of the late John Franklin and Ona Elizabeth (Donley) McCluskey.
A lifelong resident of the area, Irene attended Dennison High School and worked at the former Scio Pottery and Stoll’s Market. Above all, she was a devoted wife to Charles Riley whom she married on October 26, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2016 after over 70 years of marriage. Irene was also preceded in death by her brothers, Gene and John McCluskey, and sisters, Josephine Hykes, Dorothy Hite, Sophie Golec, Sally Polen and Beulah Arnold. Irene is survived by her sisters, Lois (Jim) Huff, Mary Kay Barnabi and Betty Bergquist; a sister-in-law, Harriet McCluskey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, Irene will be cremated and interred with her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. No public visitation or service is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
