Iona Rose Enochs, 69, of Uhrichsville, passed away at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia on Saturday, October 12, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Born June 22, 1944 in Canton, she was a daughter of the late Howard Freeman and Mary May (Sayre) Kinsinger.
A resident of Uhrichsville for most of her adult life, Iona was a member of the 11th Street Church of God. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing Bingo. She is survived by a daughter, Ann Maffitt with whom she had resided; five sons, Howard “Bill” (June) Walker of Dennison, Robert Midcap of Dennison, Mark (Michelle) Enochs of Uhrichsville, Paul (Robin) Enochs of Malvern, and Joseph (Dawn) Enochs of Tuscarawas County; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen Bouscher of Arizona; a brother, Howard Donald (Ellie) Bennett of Massillon; a sister-in-law, Janet Kinsinger of North Canton; her former spouse, Marvin Enochs of Dennison; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Evelyn and Roy Enochs, and a brother, Willard Kinsinger.
Services for Iona, officiated by Pastor Earl Miller, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
