Ignacio Herrera Perez

Ignacio Herrera Perez, 80, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio. Born July 13, 1943 in Durango, Mexico, he was a son of the late Margarito Herrera and Anatalia Perez Herrera. A resident of Dennison since 2009, Ignacio had previously lived in Chicago for many years. He will be remembered as a loving family man who especially cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren.

On March 15, 1976, he married Joyce Ann (Nolen) Perez with whom he enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage until her passing on February 4, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Amador Herrera, Zacarias Herrera, and Efren Herrera, and stepsons, Kenneth and James Blevins. Ignacio is survived by his daughters, Norma Perez with whom he had resided and Linda (Chris) Herrera; son, Jose (Mitzi) Perez; grandchildren, Katilyn, Annabelle, Preston, Madisen, Peyton, Ivette, Joshua, and Lauren; siblings, Alberta Andrades, Matilde Herrera, Francisca Herrera, and Toribio Herrera; uncle, Atanacio Perez Diaz; and a large extended family which includes step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Reverend Father Ryszard Gron will celebrate the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, at Saint William Catholic Church, 2600 N. Sayre Ave., Chicago, IL 60707. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring his memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
