Ida M. Booth, 82, of Sherrodsville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, Ohio, after a period of declining health. Born June 16, 1929 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late John L. and Lizzie A. (Garbrandt) Beamer.
Ida was a local resident throughout her life who worked for a number of years at Coultrap’s Store near Tappan Lake and at The Daily Treat which was beside Coultrap’s. She also worked for Piergallini’s Market for a time. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and doing ceramics.
On September 10, 1946, Ida married William Booth with whom she enjoyed forty-five years of marriage until his passing on October 6, 1991. They are survived by six children, William S. (Betty) Booth of Sherrodsville, Mary J. (Anthony) Knight of Cadiz, Debra J. (Jack) Young of Massillon, John R. (Kim) Booth of Leesville, Dolly J. (Arthur) Hennis of Jewett and Jay R. Booth of Leesville; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Ida is also survived by a sister, Mina Burdette of Tippecanoe, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight siblings: Charles “Chuck”, Clarence “Pete” and John Beamer, Anna E. Smith, Margaret Zurcher, Dolly Shaw, Mary Jones and Delores Jackson.
Services for Ida, officiated by Rev. Harry Milligan, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Deersville’s Patterson Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Those wishing to honor Ida’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
