Hope D. Edwards

Hope D. Edwards, 65, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, while surrounded by her loving family and a dear friend. Born March 8, 1943 in Gilmore, O., she was a daughter of the late Charles Foster and Nova Audrey (Dearth) Milburn.

On September 27, 1959, Hope married Larry Dean Edwards who preceded her in death on May 3, 1983. They are survived by a daughter,Kendra Rae (Billy) Devore of Uhrichsville; two sons, Larry Alan Edwards and his wife, Susan Kay, of Dennison, and Christopher Dean Edwards and his wife, Kelli, of Gnadenhutten; a grandson, Christopher; and five granddaughters, Lexi, Riley, Brittany, Courtney and Kirstie; and three step-grandchildren, Alex, Brady, and Rachael.

Hope is also survived by three brothers, Kenneth Daniel Milburn and his wife, Marie, of Cambridge, Thomas Wayne Milburn of Midvale and Clyde Douglas Milburn of Tuscarawas; two sisters, Wilma Deane Hammel and her husband, Homer, and Nancy Jane Faes and her husband, Dean, of Gilmore; many nieces and nephews; her best friend, Marsha; and a special friend, Rick Brown of Uhrichsville. Hope will be sadly missed by her family, as well as many dear friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Foster; a sister-in-law, Marion Milburn; and a nephew, Jeff Hammel.

Hope was a lifelong resident of the area who attended Port Washington High School. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she was employed by Ember Home Healthcare for seventeen years. She loved flower gardening and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

In keeping with Hope’s wishes, she has been cremated without public visitation or services. She will be interred with her husband in West Union Cemetery near Gilmore. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
