Herbert A. Mcpeek

Herbert Allen McPeek, 64, of Dennison, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia. Born August 12, 1952 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Paul Leroy “Peekie” and Mary Margaret (Jones) McPeek.

Herb was a fun loving kind hearted son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle who will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and anyone he may have encountered. He was a long time member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Dennison Eagles. Herb was a very social person who loved spending time with family and friends. He was a 1971 graduate of Claymont High School who worked for Pangrazio’s Pizza Shop and Chef Ernie’s for a number of years.

He is survived by a sister, O. Denise (Jack) Bloom-Keffer; nieces and nephews, Rhonda (Don) Hawk, Michelle (Steve) McPeek, Mike (Cathy) Smith, Melissa (Alan) Maffo, Kendra Zelaya, Taneka (Brandon) Cummings-Bates, Kenny Yant, Shelly (Ed) Orr, Richard Cummings, and Michael Cummings; uncle, Ronnie McPeek; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rena Fawcett.

Services for Herb, officiated by Pastor Dennis Shearer, will be held at 5pm on Sunday, September 4, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison with visitation 3-5pm before the service. Interment will be in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery at 1pm on Tuesday, September 6. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
