Harry Morten “Bud” Henry, 95, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Born August 3, 1930 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of the late Willard Earl and Blanche Marie (née Jollie) Henry. In addition to his parents, Bud is preceded in death by his first wife of 65 years, Kathryn Lou (née Hostetler) Henry; son, Gary Henry; siblings, Joyce Marie Henry, Homer Henry, Luella M. Reed, and Steven Henry.
With the exception of the time that he spent serving his country in the U.S. Army in the early 50s, Bud was a Tuscarawas County resident for most of his life and had attended Dennison Schools. He was employed by the former Warner & Swasey before working as an auto body tech for a number of years at Truck Sales & Service. Beginning in 1974, he was the owner and operator of Bud’s Body Repairs. One of his passions was restoring antique automobiles which he continued to do even after his retirement. He also loved horseback riding in his younger years and spent countless happy hours caring for his farm and orchards. Bud’s greatest joy in life was being able to do things for others whether it was working on their vehicles or helping with their homes or any other need they may have had.
Bud leaves behind his wife, Wilma Joyce (née Moore) Herron-Henry to whom he was married on February 14, 2016; sons, Dwayne “Rusty” (Donna) Henry and Steven (Jill) Henry; grandchildren, Kirk (Misty), Kari (Jeremy), Kayla (Zac), Kyle (Kristen), Gary II (Janelle), Sam (Chrissy) Kaitlyn (Noah), and Seth (Amy); many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carlyn M. (Keith) Laursen; brother, Stanley J. (Lillie) Henry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bud’s life, officiated by Pastor Jim Manbeck, will be held at noon on Friday, June 5, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio where his family will receive callers for an hour prior to the service. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Alzheimer’s Association, in lieu of flowers.
