Helen Frances Hooker, 93, of Dennison, passed away on April 28, 2013 in Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar, following a brief illness. Born February 9, 1920 in Jefferson County, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Myrtle (Robison) Millhorn. She was a life-long resident of the Uhrichsville and Dennison area and was very active until her recent illness. Helen enjoyed helping her daughter research her family history and looked forward to the weekly family card games. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
On April 8, 1939, she married Joseph A. Hooker who preceded her in death on October 31, 1991. Also preceding her is her son, David A. Hooker; sister, Lily Belle Coffman; brothers, Kenneth Millhorn and Walter Millhorn; and a great-grandson. She is survived by a son, Don Lee and his wife, Marilyn, of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughters, Carol Alsept and her husband, Dennis of Bolivar and Nancy McPeek and her husband, George, of Dennison; sisters, Bernice Amos of Wooster and Dorothy Millhorn of Uhrichsville; brother, H. Wayne Millhorn of Toronto, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar for their wonderful care and kindness shown to the family. In accordance with Helen’s wishes, a graveside service, officiated by Rev. Larry Stitt, will be held at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10th.
