Helen Louise Garrett

Helen Louise Garrett, 78, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 in her home, following a brief illness.

Born July 16, 1930 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Charles Roy and Maude Fern (Gray) Rentsch, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

She married Dean Byron Garrett with whom she enjoyed a long and happy marriage until his passing on June 30, 1995. They are survived by two sons, Paul Garrett and his wife, Sandy, and Dean Garrett and his wife, Ginger, of Columbus; two daughters, Kelly Donato and her husband, David, of Uhrichsville and Diane Garrett and her partner, Dar, of New York; six grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Paul, Jessica and Juliann Garrett, and Nicole Aubiel; and six great grandchildren.

Helen is also survived by a brother, Dale E. Rentsch Dennison; a sister, Ruth Davis and her companion, Robert Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her companion, Jim Bernard of Uhrichsville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Sam, Benny E., Carl Dean and Charles R. Rentsch; and three sisters, Mabel Kasco, Edith Jones and Doris Jones.

Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who had also worked in the health care field for many years.

Services for Helen, officiated by Rev. Robert Donato, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1:00 p.m. in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Dover Burial Park.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover, OH 44622.
