Helen C. Brown

Helen Christina Brown, 95, Tippecanoe, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville. Born June 2, 1920 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Thomas and Bessie Alice (Barr) Coverdale.

On September 25, 1937, she married Ross Franklin Best who preceded her in death on January 5, 1967. They are survived by children, Ross F. (Sherry) Best, Jr. and Elizabeth (Harold) Romig; son-in-law, Richard Page; daughter-in-law, Rose Best; 11 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. On November 21, 1975, she married Stanley Garfield Brown who preceded her in death on February 28, 1992. Helen is survived by stepchildren, Donald, Edward, Stanley and Ellen Brown, as well as numerous step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by children, James and Clarence Best and Dorothy Page; brothers, Thomas Coverdale and John Graham; sister, Dorothy Lupi; and 3 grandchildren.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she had been a cook for the Buckeye Hotel and Country Club Center. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and flowers, and was Methodist by faith.

Services, officiated by Pastor Jim McConnell, will be held at 1pm on Monday, April 4, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Visitation will be 11am-1pm on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
