Helen Pearl Baker, 92, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away while surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Dennison, following a period of declining health. Born November 9, 1929 in Gilmore, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George Denton and Eunice Pearl (Leggett) Freeland.
Helen was a lifelong area resident who had devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a Golden member of the Uhrichsville Women of the Moose who loved spending time with her many friends there, as well as playing Bingo.
She will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her children, Arthur (Olivia) Baker, Karen (Jeff) Mann, Jane (Dan) Beamer, Brenda (companion, Bud) Ditto, Sandra (Bill) Berger, and Beverly (Darrell) Ingram; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Bunny) Freeland; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large extended family including her stepchildren and step grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Maloy Baker whom she married on September 12, 1969, enjoying nearly 32 years of marriage until his passing on August 12, 2001; sons, David, Ray, and Sam Howard; daughter, Diana Ingram; brothers, Leroy and James; and sisters, Mary, Carrie, and Ruth.
Pastor Sandra Mann will officiate a 6:00 p.m. funeral on Friday, January 21, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. All who attend are asked to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
