Harry was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1942 before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army’s 627th Quartermaster Corp in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. Upon returning home from the war, Harry lived in Canton where he worked for Hercules Motors until 1958. He has been a resident of Gnadenhutten since 1959 and retired from Alsco in 1986 after twenty-eight years of employment. Harry was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished the time that he spent with his children and grandchildren. He was Methodist by faith. He will be remembered by many for his elaborate wood carvings which was his hobby for over twenty years. He also enjoyed going to the dog track and playing pinochle in his spare time and, in his younger years, loved to hunt and fish.
