Harley Allen Corbett, 92, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at the Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio on Monday, June 22, 2026. Born on December 26, 1933 in Port Washington, Ohio, he was a son of the late Harley Hunter and Helen Marie (née Couts) Corbett.

After his graduation from Port Washington High School in 1951, Harley went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. After he returned home, Harley started his 30-year career at East Ohio Gas where he worked as a reader, collector, and inspector of gas meters throughout Tuscarawas County and surrounding areas. He was also employed by Belden Brick for a number of years.

Harley was a member of the Uhrichsville Elks, the Uhrichsville Eagles, the Uhrichsville Moose and the New Philadelphia V.F.W. He attended the Uhrichsville First Christian Church where he was a devoted member of the parish for over 70 years. During his time there, he served as a trustee, deacon, chairman of the board, and elder emeritus. He also attended Uhrichsville First Presbyterian for a period of time. Harley was a man of many talents and enjoyed numerous hobbies. He was an avid car enthusiast – including restoring automobiles – and had also collected antique furniture, coins, and stamps for many years. In his younger years, he was a tremendous bowler, as well.

Harley is survived by his children, Mary Jane (John) Barkley, Jackie (Rich) Seymore, and Harley “Allen” (Cathy) Corbett II; grandchildren, Christopher Barkley, Scott (Jessica) Barkley, Todd (Annie) Barkley, Kayla (Shane) McNutt, Rachel (Tony) Saffel, Ali (Conor) Bury, Aaron (Melissa) Corbett, and Leah Corbett; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Kase, Rylan, Liam, Brooklyn, Scarlett, and Owen; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harley was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred June Gilmore and Donna Jean Corbett, and a great-grandson, Xander.

In keeping with Harley’s wishes, cremation is planned. He will be interred with his parents in Union-Salem Cemetery in Port Washington where a graveside service will be held on a future date. This website will be updated when service details are confirmed.
