Grace E. Miley

Grace Evelyn Miley, 91, of Bolivar, O., formerly of Bowerston, O., passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Hennis Care Center in Bolivar.

Born April 22, 1918 in Corning, O., she was a daughter of the late Berton and Catherine (Wilson) Maxwell.

Grace spent her youth in Corning where she was a graduate of Corning High School in the class of 1936. Most of her adult life was spent as a resident of Bowerston where she had been a member of the Bowerston Quilting Club for many years.

On September 20, 1944, Grace was wed to James Willick Miley with whom she enjoyed over fifty-eight years of marriage until his passing on November 20, 2002. They are survived by two sons: John W. Miley of Sherrodsville and Ed Miley and his wife, Vicki, of Bolivar; five grandsons: Jimmy Miley and his wife, Andrea, of Strasburg, Eddie Miley and his wife, Denise, of Alliance, Joey Miley and his wife, Michelle, of Bolivar, Mike Miley of Dover, and Matthew Miley and his wife, Jamie, of Sherrodsville; and nine great grandchildren: Hayley, Zane, Zoe, Zachary, Zander, Chase, Drew, Blake, and Madison. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Lambert.

Grace was devoted to her family and took great joy in the time that she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of her life. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Grace had also worked as a secretary for Galigher Trucking for a number of years.

Services for Grace, officiated by Rev. John Johnson, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Bowerston’s Longview Cemetery beside her beloved husband.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Those wishing to honor Grace’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
