Geraldine Marcella Ruffini

April 29, 1924 — November 29, 2015

Geraldine Marcella Ruffini, 91, of Alliance, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Canterbury Villa in Alliance after a long period of declining health. Born April 29, 1924 in La Grange, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Henry and Alice Bernice (Metcalf) Soules.

A Tuscarawas county resident for more than 50 years, Geraldine worked as a nurses’ aide in local nursing homes. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Lawrence Ruffini; sister, Maude Cafaro; nephew, Richard Cafaro; and niece, Carol Cope. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Connie Marcella Alton, Donald Cafaro, Nancy Super, Sheryl Doyle, Vickie Brauner, Helen Abrams, and David Cafaro; great-nieces and great–nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great–nephews.

Father Jonathan Kathenge will celebrate a memorial Mass at 10am on Saturday, December 12, 2015, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. According to Geraldine’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation and will be interred with her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church’s Memorial Book Fund.
