George Raymond Paige, Jr.

George Raymond Paige, Jr., 92, of Dennison, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville. Born March 18, 1926 in Dennison, he was the son of the late George Raymond and Beulah Mae (Haga) Paige.

George was a 1944 graduate of Dennison High School before beginning his long career as an equipment operator for Associated Grocers. He was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union and was an avid gardener, in his spare time. He was protestant by faith.

On June 28, 1958, George married the former Leona Mae Mathias with whom he enjoyed nearly 43 years of marriage until her passing on June 12, 2001. They are survived by a daughter, Karla Paige, and were preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Paige. George is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Services, officiated by Rev. Carolyn Behrendt, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside his beloved wife in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice. George’s family wish to extend their gratitude to the staff of Claymont Health and Rehabilitation for the excellent care they provided to him during his time as a resident there.
