George Thomas Lindsey

George Thomas Lindsey, 81, a former Dennison, Ohio resident, died of cardiac failure on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at his home in Tucson, Arizona. For the past 9 years, he and his wife of 59 years, Ada, had shared their time between homes in Tucson and Redondo Beach, California.

Tom – or George, as he was known later – was born October 28, 1936, in Dennison, to the late Charles M. and A. Pauline (Lucas) Lindsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lindsey.

He grew up in Dennison where he was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a 1954 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. In the late 50s, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy before earning his Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in 1962. Tom had a long career as a writer-producer-director of documentaries for educational and commercial television, as well as many free-lance projects. In his later years, he authored and published 4 books and was working on his 5th at the time of his death.

The intention for the 10:00 a.m. Sunday, February 25, Mass in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison will be offered for the repose of his soul, as arranged by his classmates. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Dennison High School Class of ’54 Endowment Fund - #320AGP, c/o The Catholic Foundation, 257 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215.
