Genevieve Ruth Mcclelland

September 7, 1932 — September 2, 2010

Genevieve Ruth McClelland, 77, of Dennison, O., passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Union Hospital in Dover, O. after a brief battle with cancer.

Born September 7, 1932 in Brownsville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late James Arthur and Eliza Jane (Brooks) Smith. She had made Dennison her home for the past eight years.

On December 2, 1950, Genevieve married Clarence E. McClelland with whom she was looking forward to celebrating sixty years of loving marriage. She is also survived by her beloved children, Sheila, Randy, James, John, Nancy, and her twins, Darla and Delbert; grandchildren, Kelly, Tina, Dawn, Christopher, Sara, Kyle, Andria, and Jordan; great grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia, Nico, Washo, Kaden, and Izayah; and a special nephew, Butch, who became her adopted son as she, his adopted mother.

Genevieve always made her family her top priority and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker to the very last. Her children and husband were blessed to have her as their best friend and role model, above and beyond all the wonderful home cooked meals, baked goods, love and attention that she showered on them.

Her other surviving family includes six siblings, Myrtle, Dorothy, Virginia, Donald, Charles, and Thelma, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members. One of thirteen children, another six siblings preceded her in death.

In keeping with Genevieve’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or service. Her family will honor her memory with a private gathering.
