new Philadelphia, Ohio

Gene Ralph Andreatta, 96, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, left his earthly home to join his beloved Miriam for life’s final journey on August 31, 2026. Born December 10, 1929 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Corrado Domenico and Emma (née Zandron) Andreatta.

Gene was a lifelong area resident with the exception of the years that he spent proudly serving his country in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a 1947 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and a member of Immaculate Conception Church for the entirety of his blessed 96 years of life. For many years, he was also an active member of Immaculate Conception’s Chancel Choir. Gene was employed by Alsco in Gnadenhutten as a production scheduler before retiring in 1992 after a 38-year career. Together, he and Miriam spent many autumns in Hawaii, enjoying the warmth and beauty of the state. They were both avid travelers who loved planning their excursions which included 7 trips to Europe.

On November 21, 1953, Gene married Miriam Treva (née Jones) Andreatta, with whom he enjoyed 63 years of loving marriage until her passing on March 4, 2017. He is survived by their children, Debra (Jamey) Bryan, Scott Andreatta, Susan (Gerald) Latanich, and Steven (Lori) Andreatta; grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Julie, Tyler, Travis, Matthew, Andrew, and Nicholas; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Bonnie, Paul, Natalie, Kristen, John, and Patrick; great-grandchildren, Abie, Arielle, Kendall, Thomas, and Waylon; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Leno Andreatta, and his sisters, Anna Boles and Erma Overholt. Gene’s family wish to express their deep gratitude to Tracey Campbell and Chris Sears who had been his dedicated caregivers or many years.

Cremation is planned without a public visitation. A graveside service, officiated by Deacon Mark Allison, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, in Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia where Gene will be laid to rest beside Miriam. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Gene’s memory by charitable donation may do so to Aultman Hospice through The Aultman Foundation, 2600 Sixth Street SW, Canton, OH 44710.
