Gene A. Adams

Gene Alan Adams, 72, of Tippecanoe, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025. Born April 24, 1952 in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Donald Ernest and Wilma Florence (Moore) Adams.

After serving his country in the U. S. Army, Gene worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for R & F Coal before retiring from Oxford. In his spare time, he loved riding his motorcycle, watching auto racing, farming, and playing cornhole with his grandkids.

On August 31, 1980, Gene married Sharry Jo (Phillips) Adams who survives him at their home. Together, they spent 44 years of loving marriage and raised their only daughter, Kaila (Jimmy) McPeek, and joyfully welcomed their grandchildren, Ethan (Vanessa) McPeek, Landon McPeek, and Kynlie McPeek, into their family. Gene is also survived by his siblings, Teresa (Gary) Tarbert, Dawn (Jim) Milleson, and Kelly (companion, Nan) Adams; his father-in-law, L. Delmar Phillips; sister-in-law, Shena (Eric) Wyler; brothers-in-law, Larry (Jackie) Phillips and Rock (Tamy) Phillips; and many nieces and nephews. Gene will be missed by his canine companion and best bud, Ruger, as well.

In keeping with Gene’s wishes, a private family service is planned at Greenmont Union Cemetery in Freeport where he will be interred. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, 81125 Gardner Rd, Tippecanoe, OH 44699, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
