Gary R. Dunfee

Gary R. Dunfee, 58, of Bowerston, passed away at his home on Friday, March 25, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Born June 7, 1957 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Raymond Eugene and Luella Adeline (McPeak) Dunfee.

A lifelong resident of the area, Gary was a 1975 graduate of Conotton Valley High School. He worked for several area companies including Briggs & Turivas, Handy & Harmon Automotive Group, and most recently, IMCO. He was a member of the Christian Lighthouse in New Philadelphia.

On September 27, 1999, he married the former Jill Pamela Marie Baughman who survives him. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Savian Burgess; sisters, Linda (Alan) Notz and Sherry (Tom) Wallace; brother, Ryan Dunfee; parents-in-law, Pam and Jim Baughman; brothers-in-law, Brian (Darla) and Chris (Jennifer) Baughman; nieces and nephews, Jason, Jamie, Miranda, Danielle (companion, Jordan), Michelle (Aaron), Preston and Raine; great-nieces and great-nephews, Brandon, Lexi, Abby, Cianna, Devon, Connor, Briana, Baylee, Jaeda, Cayla, Zane, Charlee, Dereck, Jaxyn, Zoe and Kaden with two more expected.

Services, officiated by Pastor Kermit Hall, will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 31, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Bowerston’s Longview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his family to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
