Fred Bollon

Fred Bollon, 94, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover, following a yearlong illness. Born June 28, 1927 in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Michael H. and Helen V. (Trepin) Bollon.

After his 1945 graduation from Uhrichsville High School, Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy at the close of World War II. He returned home and spent the remainder of his years as a resident of Uhrichsville. He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. In 2007, Fred retired from Truck Sales & Service, Inc. in Midvale after a career of 57 years, 20 of which were as the owner. He served his community in many capacities, most notably as a longtime past president of the Twin City Hospital Board, and he was honored by the Claymont Foundation for his dedicated volunteerism.

On July 21, 1951, Fred married Mary Dolores (Garcia) Bollon with whom he spent over 58 years of loving marriage until her passing on November 5, 2009. They are survived by their daughter, Diane (Rod) Rafael; sons, Joseph Bollon, Rick Bollon, and Michael (Stacie) Bollon; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Fred is also survived by his sister, Dolores “Dolly” Contini; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Patti Ann McCartney and Kaylyn Archer. In addition to his parents and wife, Fred was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Martinelli and Marilyn Bilboa; infant brother, Eugene Bollon; and parents-in-law, Joseph and Anna Garcia. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Trinity Hospital Twin City, Hennis Care Centre in Dover, and Crossroads Hospice for their wonderful care.

In keeping with Fred’s wishes, cremation is planned. A private graveside service will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison where he will be interred beside his beloved wife.
