Francis Everett “Butch” Triplett, 74, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Stillwater, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016, at his home. Born September 10, 1941 in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Guy and Gertrude Anna (Cecil) Triplett.
A lifelong resident of the area, Butch was a 1960 graduate of Uhrichsville High School before beginning his long career as a heavy equipment operator in the local coal mining industry. In his spare time, his passion was for shooting sports, having been an avid hunter in his younger years. For over 40 years, he enjoyed trap shooting and spent many happy hours taking care of his guns and loading his own shells.
On June 29, 1963, Butch married the former Evelyn Eleanor Stocker who survives him. He is also survived by children, Jeffrey Triplett and Jody (Donnie) Roberts; grandchildren, Cody and Lexy Roberts; siblings, Harry Triplett, Ethel “Sis” Armstrong, Nancy (Bud) Rainsberg, Ronald “Bud” (Karen) Triplett, and Barbara (Jerry) Renner; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Gertrude Triplett; brother, Richard Triplett; brother-in-law, Carl Armstrong; and sister-in-law, Selma Triplett.
According to Butch’s wishes, he will be cremated without a public visitation or service
