Frances Loretta Dolzani

Frances Loretta Dolzani, 91, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Hennis Care Centre in Dover, Ohio after a period of declining health. Born May 26, 1919 in Stillwater, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Florenz A. and Mary Emilia (Marstrell) Fantin.

Frances was a resident of the Twin City area for nearly her entire life and was a 1938 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. During World War II, she did her part for the war effort by working at Curtis Wright in Columbus. After returning to Uhrichsville, she operated Fran’s Beauty Shop on Water Street for many years and later worked for Miller Studio in New Philadelphia until her retirement.

On October 14, 1950, Frances married Leno Eugene Dolzani with whom she enjoyed nearly sixty years of marriage until his passing on September 5, 2010. They are survived by a son, Roger Dolzani and his wife, Barbara, of Lakewood, Colorado, and three grandchildren, Zachary, Molly and Samuel Dolzani, also of Lakewood. Frances is also survived by her sister-in-law, Anne R. Erb of New Philadelphia, and many dear nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Felix B. Fantin; stepmother, Edith “Ferne” Dix Fantin; sister, Irene Wentz; brother, L. John Fantin, Sr.; and brothers-in-law, Robert Dolzani, Maynard Erb, Bill Russell and Robert Wentz.

Services for Frances, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
