Ferdinand Andrew “Moon” Bonaduce, 89, of Dover, formerly of Dennison, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia. Born August 16, 1926 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Pasquale “Pete” and Angelina (Buompadre) Bonaduce. The last of his family, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Marino and Robert Bonaduce, and Margaret Seymore. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A resident of Dover since 2004, Moon was previously a lifelong resident of Dennison where he was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church and a 1944 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater and the Occupation of Japan. He was a member and past commander of Dennison’s American Legion Post #491 and an original member of the 717th Railroad Battalion. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and Tuscarawas County Surveyors, owned and operated the Ohio Beverage Carryout in Uhrichsville, and worked with surveyors and as an inspector for the Ohio Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1982 after 25 years of service.
Father Tyron Tomson will celebrate the funeral Mass at 10am on Monday, October 19, 2015, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison with a military committal service. Visitation will be 2pm to 5pm on Sunday in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Contributions honoring Moon’s memory may be made to Immaculate Conception Church’s Memorial Book Fund. His family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Community Hospice for the excellent care that Moon received during his final illness.
