Fay Louise Zeigler, 84, of Dennison, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia, after a short period of declining health. Born July 7, 1937 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Karl and Mary Alice “Marie” (Tremblay) Zeigler.
Throughout her life, Fay was a devout member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Much of her life revolved around her beloved church and parish, having been a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in 1956, a member of the choir, and an active member of the Altar Society. She was the cook for Immaculate Conception Elementary for many years, until her retirement. She enjoyed time spent with her friends both in card club and on long phone calls, and she will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, and friend.
Fay will be deeply missed by her sisters, T. Ann Riley and Josephine Smith; 13 nieces and nephews, including Susan (Scott) Hammary who was her devoted caregiver; numerous great- and great-great-nieces and –nephews; and a host of dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ray W. (her twin), Joseph T., Rev. Fr. Edmund K., and James C. Zeigler, and L. Jane Umpleby.
Father Jeff Coning will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, at Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
