F. Margaret Pancher

Florence Margaret Pancher, 83, of Myrtle Beach, N.C., formerly of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, after a short illness. Born January 1, 1929 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Lois L. (Morris) Bente.

On May 8, 1948, Margaret married Paul Richard “Dick” Pancher with whom she enjoyed over fifty-two years of marriage until his passing on May 10, 2000. They are survived by a son, Clayton R. “Clay” (Myra) Pancher of Stonecreek; a daughter, Amanda L. Pancher-Leath with whom she had resided in Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Clayton E. “Eric” (fiancée, Erica) Pancher, Adam R. (fiancée, Alex) Pancher, Philip R. Pancher, Alexis P. Leath, Alana L. Leath, Renee E. (Scott) Mason and Marcus A. (Jessica) Schwarm; and nine great-grandchildren with a tenth expected. Margaret is also survived by three sisters, Jean Stewart of Uhrichsville, Joann Sheets of Newark, O. and Janetta (Gary) Paulan of Newcomerstown; brother- and sisters-in-law, Darrell and Donna Pancher and Mandy Walters, all of Uhrichsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Clayton B. Sheets who raised her like his own; a brother, Charles Sheets; and a sister, Lois June Glauser.

Until the last few years, Margaret was a lifelong resident of the Twin City area. She was a longtime member of Uhrichsville 1st Christian Church, as well as a member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Eagles where she and her husband loved to go dancing. In her youth, she was a volunteer at the Dennison Depot Canteen. Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved gardening and working in her yard in her spare time. She worked for a number of area businesses over the years and retired from Union Hospital where she had been in the housekeeping department for over fifteen years.

Services for Margaret, officiated by Rev. Debbie Saxe, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice of Myrtle Beach and the American Heart Association.
