F. Jane Capes

F. Jane Capes, 95, of Dennison, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2012 at Beacon Point Rehabilitation at Uhrichsville following a period of declining health. Born December 21, 1916 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Roy E. and M. Sylvia (Johnston) Arbaugh.

A life resident of Dennison, Jane was a 1934 graduate of Dennison High School. Jane had been a secretary for the former Sherer Insurance agency for many years as well as having been a motor vehicle deputy registrar. Jane was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Jane was very active in the Dennison Presbyterian Church where she was the oldest living member in both age and membership and had been a member of the Work Bible class. Jane had also been a member of the Tuscarawas County Republican Club and various card clubs in our area.

On January 3, 1947, Jane married Wayne D. Capes who preceded her in death on October 6, 1975.

Jane’s surviving family include her son and daughter in law, John and Linda Capes of Uhrichsville; her granddaughters Cristin Beitzel and husband Scott of Uhrichsville and Carrie Duncan and husband Scott of East Sparta; her great grandchildren, Madison and Dylan McKibben and Jacob and Samuel Duncan; nieces, Sharon and husband Gary Eubank of Groveport, OH and Judy and husband Ronald Getchey of San Diego, CA; nephew Tom and wife Zena Musgrave of Lexington, KY, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Opphile and Mary Musgrave; nephew, Fred Opphile; and two great nephews.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Mark Unrue and Rev. Carolyn Behrendt will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Internment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at visitation for Jane on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Those wishing to honor Jane with a memorial contribution are encouraged to do so to the Dennison Presbyterian Church or the Uhrichsville Presbyterian Church Roof Fund.
