Evelyn M. Walker

Evelyn M. Walker, 95, of Gnadenhutten, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Hennis Care Centre in Dover, Ohio, after a period of declining health. Born November 13, 1916 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Jasper Leroy and Etta Nell (Cecil) Fisher.

On November 6, 1943, Evelyn married Howard M. “Bud” Walker and began her life’s work as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1967. They are survived by a daughter, Jody Meyers and her husband, Philip, of Gnadenhutten; two sons, Barry L. Walker, Sr. and his wife, Christy, of Gnadenhutten and Lanny Walker and his wife, Denise, of California; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Leroy Fisher and Earl Robert Fisher.

In keeping with Evelyn’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public service or visitation. She will be interred beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Community Hospice, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover, OH 44622, in lieu of flowers.
