Evadine E. Roup

Evadine E. Roup, 84, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Trinity Twin City Hospital in Dennison after a lengthy illness. Born December 26, 1926 in Barnhill, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Luceal (Swauger) Warner.

Evadine was a resident of the area throughout her life. Growing up, she attended Goosefoot Hill School. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Eagles Ladies’ Auxiliaries where she loved playing bingo and going dancing.

On January 30, 1946, Evadine married Cecil R. Roup with whom she enjoyed over forty-seven years of marriage until his passing on October 1, 1993. They are survived by six daughters, Virginia (Marion) Hall of Michigan, Patricia Bowling of Uhrichsville, Olive (Archie) Sanders of Uhrichsville, Crystal (Bob) Bartimus of Bowerston, Debbie (Donald) Hayes of Dennison, and Charlene (Donald) Houp of New Philadelphia; five sons, Doyle (Linda) Roup of Florida, Henry Roup of Midvale, Delmer Roup of Zanesville, Virgil Roup of Uhrichsville, and Mel (Tracy) Roup of Uhrichsville; fifty grandchildren; and forty-three great grandchildren. Evadine is also survived by a sister, Ruth Johnson of Dover, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Warner; three sisters, Dorothy Warner, Viola Myers, and Opal Jones; a son-in-law, Ralph Bowling; seven grandchildren; and a great grandson.

Services for Evadine, officiated by Rev. Harry Milligan, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
