Eunice C. Mcqueen

Eunice Caroline McQueen, 89, of Uhrichsville, passed away surrounded by family and friends at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville on Friday, October 13, 2017. Born May 15, 1928 in Piedmont, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Edith Lyme (Perkins) and Dwight B. Simpson.

Eunice was a 1946 graduate of Lakeland High School and worked for the telephone company in Cadiz until her marriage to Donald Lawrence “Red” McQueen on September 19, 1955. They enjoyed nearly 53 years of marriage until his passing on September 6, 2008, and are survived by their daughter, Lori S. (companion, Robbie Richardson) Frantz and grandson, Chad Frantz. She is also survived by her brother, Terry (Pat) Simpson and sister-in-law, Karen Simpson; uncle, Larry (Carolyn) Perkins; dear friend, Donna Vermillion; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brother, Marc Simpson and son-in-law, John Frantz.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Eunice loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed doing crafts, in her spare time. She attended Park Christian Church in Dennison and Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville. The family would like to expresses their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation.

Services, officiated by Pastor Scot Caley, will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, October 17, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Greenmont Cemetery in Freeport. Visitation will be 5 to 8pm on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Association.
