Eugene "Crutch" Sell

Eugene Ray “Crutch” Sell, 70, of Bowerston, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia. Born January 31, 1945 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Clifford Earl and Della Lucille (Easterday) Sell.

Crutch was a 1963 graduate of Conotton Valley High School before beginning his 40 year career with Superior Clay. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War, earning an Army Commendation Medal and a Bronze Star Medal.

His surviving family includes children, David Sell, Marcy (Nate) Pounds and Jill (Gary) Milburn; grandchildren, Sean Levengood and Katlin, Rylee and Carson Milburn; sister, Emma (Jerry) McMannamy; three nieces and nephews; and his former spouse, Darlene Austin.

Rev. Jerralyn Myers will officiate an 11am funeral on Wednesday, January 27, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Leesville Cemetery with a military committal service. Visitation will be 4-7pm on Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
