Ernest Samuel "Sam" Dickey

Ernest Samuel “Sam” Dickey, 88, of Dennison, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Born January 16, 1928 in Union Twp., Tuscarawas Co., Ohio, he was a son of the late William Denver and Anna Josephine (Ferrell) Dickey.

Sam proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army as soon as he was 18 and served his country for 8 years until his honorable discharge November 3, 1953. He was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association and the American Hunting Club.

Sam is survived by five dear friends who were like children to him, Mary Hawkins, Richard Snively Jr., Lonnie Snively, Dusty Mitchell and Jesse Snively, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 1pm on Friday, May 27, 2016 in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison with visitation for two hours prior. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.
