Emma Lou Risley

Emma Lou Risley, 91, of Uhrichsville, was called from her home to the more immediate presence of the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Born August 4, 1928 in Dennison, she was the last surviving daughter of the late Lee Clarence and Caroline Elizabeth (Skaer) McCue, having been preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Maxwell and Alma Jean McCue.

A 1946 graduate of Dennison High School, Emma was a lifelong area resident and longtime member of Uhrichsville First Moravian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who had also taught Round Dancing for 30 years all over the region. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and cross stitch.

On June 25, 1948, Emma married Daniel Dias Risley with whom she enjoyed nearly 57 years of marriage until his passing on March 11, 2005. They were blessed with two sons, Daniel (Victoria) Risley who survives her and Michael Risley who preceded her in death; daughter-in-law, Paula Risley; grandchildren, Jason Risley, Michelle (Charles) Angelo, Daniel D. (Leslie) Risley, II and Beau D. Risley; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Emma is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Sonia Risley and Sandra Risley, and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Emma’s wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later time when public gatherings may be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
