Elsie E. Heavilin, 69, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, after a brief illness. Born October 23, 1941 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Martha E. (Gatchell) Heavilin.
A lifelong resident of the Twin City area, Elsie attended Uhrichsville High School. She was a loving sister and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, as well as crocheting.
Her surviving family includes two brothers, Harry L. (Suzie) Heavilin of Uhrichsville and Jack P. (Mary) Heavilin of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Ella Mae and Nancy A. Heavilin with whom she had resided; a sister-in-law, Betty Jane Heavilin of New Philadelphia; an aunt, Marie Heavilin of Bowerston; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry L. and Jesse J. Heavilin; a sister, Wava Heavilin; and two nephews, Randy and Bill Heavilin.
Services for Elsie, officiated by Rev. Mark Unrue, will be held at noon on Saturday, March 26, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Those wishing to honor Elsie’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
