Elsie Ehrenbiet

Elsie Ehrenbiet, 88, of Tippecanoe, Ohio, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Union Hospital in Dover, after a period of declining health. Born November 25, 1923 in Manchester, England, she was a daughter of the late John and Lily (Blears) Nickson.

A longtime resident of Cleveland until moving to Tippecanoe in 1979, Elsie was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Garfield, Ohio. Locally, she attended Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker who was active in Helping Hands for many years. She loved caring for her home and family, especially working in her garden and with her flowers.

On August 11, 1945 in Manchester, England, she married Joseph F. Ehrenbiet, Jr. who survives her at their home. She is also survived by their two daughters, Mrs. Rom (Susan) Muszynski of Tippecanoe and Mrs. Daniel (Sandra) Benewiat of Hiram, Ohio; grandchildren, Eva Marie Shafer and her companion, Domonik, Mrs. John (Sheryl Ann) Forrest, and Michael Kondelik and his wife, Erin; great grandchildren, Aaron and Nicholas Shafer, Kristen and Stephen Forrest, and Jordan and Lucas Kondelik; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Ehrenbiet; a sister, Lily; and a brother, John.

In keeping with Elsie’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service and celebration of her life, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, January 9, 2012 in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will be in Feed Spring Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover, OH 44622.
